This used to be an excellent business hotel. Short walk to the Vienna International Centre and a metro station, quiet rooms, and an OK breakfast (not the best, not the worst). The restaurant is expensive and limited, but who cares - if you are on business, the evening is the only chance to visit the centre. Sadly, I won’t go back there again. Now full of large tour groups, the staff have stopped smiling.

Characterless and dated business hotel

Arrived at this characterless and dated business hotel and were given our room which was like a sauna. After an hour of waiting for the room to cool we went to reception and asked for a room where the aircon worked. We were given another room which was just as hot. The temp outside was about 23 degrees - in the room it was about 28. God knows how you would manage it there was a heatwave. We opened the window which had some effect at cooling the room but then we had all the road noise. We had a hot and sleepless night. The hotel and its furnishings look like how I imagine a cheap brothel to look. The breakfast buffet was the redeeming feature - very good and the restaurant was nice and cool

Chaotic My wife and I had booked the nearby Arcotel Donauzentrum months earlier for a three-night stay. Two days before we were due to arrive we got an email from Arcotel saying they had messed up our booking and we were now in the Kaiserwasser (K). K never seemed to recover from that. The good things about K are that it has a large car park and is close to a metro station so you can get to central Vienna in a short time. But it is a business hotel and tourists seemed a bit of a nuisance. The staff were kind but seemed to have awful trouble with their accounting system. Since we had been dumped on K, we had a fairly grim room but decided to make the best of it. Breakfast was OK and there is a nice open-air eating space. TOP TIP: if you are driving to this hotel, be aware that Google Maps has great difficulty finding it as it is in the middle of a spaghetti road system. A lot of the roads in the area are in tunnels and GPS reception disappears. Nightmare. The K is just about OK but there must be more pleasant places to stay for the price.

Very convenient for the Austria Centre the hotel is perfectly fine if you need to be here. Good room size and very good for low noise through the walls often in other hotels My only observation is dining is limited. Hotel kitchen was not open on the Saturday I stayed and there is very limited choice in immediate area Luckily the underground is across the street and a 10 min journey gets you into the main city.

First of all, no hotel directory and guide in the room. No idea about room service availability, how the telephone works, what TV stations available or how the aircon works. Then to add insult to the price paid - a note on the bed that there will be no housekeeping to protect the bees. So every time you make a coffee you need to wash your cups or water glass, water bottle is not replenished and beds not made. Then to add to the frustration - room key does not work as they have not a) got my booking right and b) the keys just don't work. Every time I came to my room I had to go back down (stand in a queue) and get my key recalibrated. As for the breakfast - same simple unimaginative food every day. 5 nights in this unkept room for over 170Euros is a rip off. Get your act together Arcotel.
